Ever wish you could bring the indoors out, making the transition seamless, extending the space? Complementary porcelain pavers and tiles can achieve just this!
Increasingly, we want to experience the calm and beauty that nature has to offer, not only while we are outside enjoying our patios, but also in our interior spaces. Porcelain is trending as one of the most popular materials for elegant outdoor living and is a great option to achieve this biophilic concept. Offered in both varieties, paver (for the outdoors) and tile (for inside), porcelain allows a seamless continuity design.
In addition to this flexibility, porcelain has numerous other valuable qualities:
Durable, Low Maintenance and Long-Lasting
When properly cared for, porcelain can last for years and years. Porcelain pavers and tiles consist of clay, baked at extremely high temperatures causing them to become very dense and non-porous, making them resistant to scratches, chemicals, staining, and moisture absorption. Unlike most concrete alternatives, porcelain is frost resistant and is unlikely to be damaged by freezing or thermal shock. Because of its low absorbency, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures will not affect porcelain; it is resistant to freeze-thaw cycles. Porcelain is easy to clean due to its low porosity. A solution of mild dish detergent, water, and, if desired, OxiClean® are adequate in removing the surface dirt and debris. Water and a broom are often sufficient. Porcelain requires no regular sealing like other pavers tend to.
Slip Resistant
Porcelain pavers can offer peace of mind as they are slip resistant, especially with their grip texture. Their non-absorbent surface helps prevent water from soaking in, leading to drier surfaces. This allows porcelain to be an ideal product for use on pool decks, sidewalks, and patios both residentially and commercially.
Aesthetics
Porcelain pavers come in a wide range of colors, patterns, shapes, and finishes, allowing for versatile design options. They can emulate the look of natural stone, wood, marble, or other materials. Their sleek and chic look can add an air of luxury to any space. What tops it off is porcelain’s natural resistance to weather and UV light. That means pavers and tiles are fade resistant and do not get as hot in the sun as their natural stone counterparts. The longevity of porcelain’s color ensures your project remains beautiful for years to come.
Versatile
Porcelain pavers are appropriate for a variety of outdoor applications, including patios, pool decks, pathways, driveways, and rooftop decks. They are suitable for existing homes and new construction alike. The vast variety of choice ensures a design complement for any type of space. And, as mentioned earlier, porcelain can bring the outdoor feel in with the use of coordinating porcelain tiles on the interior. Overall, porcelain is a perfect choice for an elevated finish to your spaces!
